Too Much Of A Good Thing?

As responsible adults and community members, it behooves us to scan the latest headlines a few times a day.

If you’re like me (and trust me, I’ve never been a daily news follower until now) perhaps you’re finding yourself pushing ‘play’ on all the latest videos and live updates. I bet after this is over, they’ll come up with a name for this and say it’s a new addiction.

We do need to keep abreast of what’s going on in our rapidly-changing environment, but too much can lower your spirits.

Enough Of That For Now

Okay, so you’ve read all the news and watched all the commentaries, now what? Not  quite motivated to attack that long overdue project of cleaning your closets and alphabetizing the spices in your pantry?

Why not take a second and pop over and subscribe to The Cricket Chronicles Blog? You might find it a refreshing way to counterbalance all that sobering news with something more light-hearted every day.

Signing Off For Now

That’s all I wanted to say … just wanted to officially invite you and say ‘Y’all come!’. I’ll end this short post by saying that while I’m not Motel 6, I will leave the light on for you.

And by the way, when you do stop by [and I’m expecting that you will], please do me a good turn and engage in some way. Let me know you’re out there and alive and kicking by either: subscribing, leaving a comment, and/or sharing something you saw here that tickled your funny bone.

You can’t use that age old excuse that you’re too busy and don’t have time because I know better. There’s nowhere to go these days … and besides … that closet still isn’t clean, now is it? LOL

And besides … who knows? … a little humor just may be good for what ails you.

By  all of us working together, staying social isolated, and keeping our spirits up, I am hopeful that we will all get through this ‘temporary inconvenience’ and find ourselves back in the high life again—with plenty of toilet paper to boot!

Lyrics

It used to seem to me that my life ran on too fast
Now I have to take it slowly just to make the TP last
But when you’ve got the runs, it’s so hard to just slow down
So don’t be surprised to see me in Costco’s bright part of town

I’ll be back in the high life again
All the stores they closed one time will open up again
I’ll be back in the high life again
All the clerks that blocked me once will smile and take me in

And we’ll drink and dance with one hand free
They’ll let me buy my own TP … and, oh I’ll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again!

This verse is dedicated to my soul mate … the love of my life … my estranged friend, Charmin:

You used to be the best … you made life be life to me
And I hope that you’re still out there … and you’re like you used to be
We’ll have ourselves a time
And we’ll dance ’til the morning sun
And we’ll let the good times come in
And we won’t stop ’til we’re done

We’ll be back in the high life again
All the stores they closed one time will open up again
We’ll be back in the high life again
All the clerks who blocked us once will smile and take us in
And we’ll drink and dance with one hand free
They’ll let us buy our own TP … and oh we’ll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

High life
High life
Back in the high life again

We’ll be back in the high life again
All the stores they closed one time will open up again
We’ll be back in the high life again
All the clerks who blocked us once will smile and let us in
And we’ll drink and dance with one hand free
They’ll let us buy our own TP and oh we’ll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again
High life
Back in the high life
Oh, we’ll be back
